CityU-FudanU DBA Alumni Chapter holds seminar on Bay Area development

The Alumni Chapter of the CityU-FudanU Doctor of Business Administration (CityU-FudanU DBA) programme organised a seminar discussing the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and its relationship with the “One Country, Two Systems” policy in Hong Kong. Mr Patrick Nip Tak-kuen, JP, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, was invited to give a keynote speech.

In the seminar, Mr Nip shared the latest development and strategies of the Bay Area. He also analyzed how the “One Country, Two Systems” policy helps Hong Kong seize the economic opportunity brought by the Bay Area development. It was mentioned that Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macau, together with some more cities, can leverage their unique strengths to make the Bay Area a new international technology and innovation hub.

Mr Nip has been appointed as the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs of Hong Kong since July 2017. He has been with the Hong Kong government for over three decades. He was appointed as the Director of Social Welfare in August 2009, Director (Special Duties) of the Chief Secretary for Administration's Private Office in June 2013, Director of Information Services in February 2014, and Permanent Secretary for Food and Health (Health) in July 2016.

The seminar was attended by over 100 faculty members and students of the CityU-FudanU DBA programme, as part of the Hong Kong workshop held during 25th to 27th May, 2018.
