Marketing students receive best presenter award in advertising competition

Two undergraduate students, Kristin Choi and Natiss Sue, from the Department of Marketing notched up top prizes in MTR advertising – Innovate Festival Creative Contest organised by JCDecaux Transport annually since 2009. This is the third year in a row that CityU students won prizes in this competition.

In the 2018 competition, 49 teams formed by tertiary students were asked to design marketing campaigns for one of the 15 participating companies. Kristin and Natiss helped CreditGo, a local credit score and report company, design a video and train-door stickers for the MTR platform. Among the teams working for CreditGo, Kristin and Natiss’ team was selected as the best and got a merit award. Their presentation impressed the judges, and they were also awarded the Best Presenter, the grand prize of the competition.

Kristin shared that the competition was a brilliant journey for her to experience the real world setting in the marketing field, “We learned a lot on creating interesting content and producing a video in a practical way, which would be useful for our future career. The Best Presenter Award encourages us to embrace challenges in the coming future!”

Natiss said, “We brainstormed ideas and executed the plan together. The Best Presenter prize was a surprise and a big encouragement to us. Presenting yourself in a confident way is stepping into success.”
