College of Business Executive Programmes Retreat

The College of Business organised a retreat at New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel on 19 December 2019, around 40 faculty members and administrative staff gathered to discuss development strategies and future plans for the College’s Executive Programmes.

In the opening remarks, Professor Houmin Yan, Acting Dean of College of Business expressed his appreciation to all colleagues for their unfailing support to the College over the years. He outlined the future development strategies of various Executive Programmes, and highlighted some areas for improvement for the College. It is mentioned that the College would streamline the programme administration and incorporate more emerging topics into the programmes. The College would continue to strive for excellence by strengthening alumni relation effort and rationalising its resources. During the meeting, various programme directors also shared insights on how the College embraces challenges and positions itself in the changing global economic landscape.

The College provides a wide range of trainings to the staff covering best practices in the workplace. It is also committed to promoting a pleasant and safe workplace and learning environment that is free from sexual harassment. On the same occasion of the retreat, the College invited the Equal Opportunities Commission to talk on creating a sexual harassment-free campus with an aim to raise colleagues’ awareness of the issue. The two applicable fields covered under the Sex Discrimination Ordinance that are relevant to the College include Employment and Education. Staff were invited to visit the “Creating a Sexual Harassment-Free Campus” online brochure to gain a better understanding of what constitutes sexual harassment and the University’s handling procedures for relevant complaints.
