[Brown Bag] The Evolving Meanings of ‘Women’ in Business Discourse, 1945-2023 by Prof. Matthew BOTHNER, ESMT Berlin

We recently concluded our second brown bag research seminar on Thursday, 10th October 2024, featuring Prof. Matthew Bothner from ESMT Berlin! He is the holder of the Deutsche Telekom Chair in Leadership and HR Development, and his current research focuses on measuring and understanding the implications of social status across various empirical contexts, such as venture capital, professional sports, and higher education. He analyzes Harvard Business Review articles from 1945 to 2023 to reveal how the representation of ‘women’ in social and professional roles has evolved, highlighting significant shifts and ongoing inequities. The seminar was not only enlightening but also sparked engaging discussions among attendees.

A huge thank you to Prof. Bothner for sharing his expertise and inspiring us all! Stay tuned for more exciting seminars in this semester!
