BBA students win 2nd Place in Marketing Competition

Two undergraduate students from the College together with three other local university students formed a team “404 not found” to participate in the CTgoodjobs Jumping Man 2016, providing marketing solutions for companies in Hong Kong. The team has awarded the first runner-up prize, out of over 50 participating teams.

Participating teams were required to work out marketing solutions for a range of companies, including fundraising campaign for Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association, recruitment strategies for Hong Kong Aviation Ground Services Limited and branding initiatives for Adidas. They had to apply their marketing knowledge and to make use of social media platforms to achieve outstanding campaign results.

Nevis Lee Kam-wing, BBA Global Business Systems Management, shared his experience in the competition, “It was a meaningful event that we could try out different marketing and recruitment campaigns to help corporates as well as charity organisations to yield good results. As a team, my members and I spent a lot of effort to understand our clients and their targets, before suggesting useful strategies.”

“We could learn the theories in school, but here at the competition, we got a chance to serve a ‘real’ client,” said Nevis.

Another member, Heison Wan Ka-hei, BBA Accountancy, said, “To me, the most challenging part in this contest was time constraint. The competition lasted for one whole semester, and the final round was held near the exam period, so we had to manage our work wisely. The experience of joining case competition was very valuable, and I hope to join more in the future.”
