BBA student awarded Grand Prize in Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Program

Cynthia Ho Sin-tung, BBA Business Operations Management student from the Department of Management Sciences, teamed up with another student from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, took part in the Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Program. The students spent their summer working in a local NGO Kids4Kids, and won the Grand Prize with their outstanding performance.

During her internship, Cynthia was responsible for the promotion and development of the youth empowerment programme in the organization. She was involved in developing a two-month social media campaign for the organization. “Joining this internship was an enriching experience for me. I have applied knowledge learned from the marketing courses such as how to address a right message to draw my target audience’s attention. I also understand more about the social issues in Hong Kong and what corporate social responsibility really means after serving in the organization,” Cynthia said.

Since its establishment in 2010, the internship programme aims to nurture future business leaders with social minds and caring hearts, and encourage university students to serve the local community by working with local NGOs. 79 business students from nine local universities were selected to the project, which is an inter-disciplinary collaboration among academic, business and social service sectors.
