DBA hosts orientation and residential workshop in Macau

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme organised a three-day orientation and residential workshop in Macau from 31st August to 2nd September.

Professor Muammer Ozer, Director of the DBA programme, warmly welcomed the new cohort in his opening remarks, followed by an informative presentation by Dr Sidney Leung, Associate Director of the DBA programme, on course and administration matters of the DBA learning journey.

As part of the intensive workshop, Professor Ozer introduced the research process and highlighted the critical aspects of generating high quality research. The following departmental representatives also introduced the latest research in their respective disciplines:

  • Dr Sidney Leung, Associate Professor of Department of Accountancy
  • Professor Junbo Wang, Professor of Department of Economics and Finance
  • Professor Leon Zhao, Chair Professor of Department of Information Systems
  • Dr Andrew Chan, Associate Professor of Department of Management
  • Professor Julie Li, Head of Department of Marketing
  • Dr Gang Hao, Associate Professor of Department of Management Sciences

Several guest speakers including Mr Michael Leung of Cohort 2017, Ms Anna Chan of Cohort 2016, and Mr Ashish Chand of Cohort 2015, as well as 2014 alumnus Dr Toa Charm, were invited to share the challenges and rewards of the programme. Students also met with their mentors who would offer support and guidance all along their DBA learning journey.
