The University held its Congregation on 24th November 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, presided at the congregation. A total of 2,366 academic awards were conferred to the College of Business graduates, including Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, Doctor’s degrees and Research degrees.
The College-wide Graduation Ceremony was held at CityU on the same day. Professor Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, presided at the Ceremony. He said in his address the vital role of university in the fast-paced technology advancement and the College’s responses to the ever-changing job market. He also expressed his congratulations to all the graduates and wished them every success in their future.
In the ceremony, Mr Sunny Wong, Senior Teaching Fellow of the Department of Accountancy, was presented the College of Business Teaching Excellence Award 2018; while Dr Xindong Zhu, Associate Professor of the Department of Accountancy, was presented the College of Business Research Excellence Award 2018. These awards were given to teaching/faculty members in recognition of their achievements and contributions in teaching and research areas.
Three outstanding alumni, including Dr Venus Tang Lai-wah, CFO of Excel Technology International (Hong Kong) Limited; Ms Mabel Chan Mei-bo, Deputy Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Hong Kong Limited; and Mr Johnny Wong Kwok-ming, co-founder of Hotmob Limited and Vice Chairman of HKAIM, were presented the College of Business Distinguished Alumni Awards in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the University, College and society.
Graduate representative from the MBA programme, Yoyo Zhang, addressed at the ceremony. She expressed her heartiest gratitude to families, teachers and classmates for their unfailing support throughout the important journey of university life.
