College International Advisory Board annual meeting 2020

The College International Advisory Board (CIAB) held its 12th annual meeting on 23 June, with overseas members joining online in the midst of the Covid-19 situation.

Members shared insights with the College on how to embrace challenges presented locally and globally, as the coronavirus pandemic, economic downturn and geopolitical tensions alter the competitive landscape of higher education. Amongst other suggestions, members recommended strengthening student support and career development, and gearing up for innovative teaching and learning approaches facilitated by new communications technologies.

The College welcomed four new members to the CIAB, who bring further diversity and dynamics to the board: Professor Shu-hsing Li, former Vice-President (Finance) and Professor of Accounting at the National Taiwan University; Professor Jinhong Xie, JC Penney Eminent Scholar Chair and Professor of Marketing at the University of Florida; Mr Geoffrey Hamilton, Chief of the Corporation and Partnerships Section at United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE); and Mr Lawrence Jin Ling-yun, Eastern Region Market Leader, Deloitte China.

The CIAB Meeting is an annual session for board members to advise on matters relating to directions and strategies for the future development of the College.
