City Seminar - Force for Good, Change the World


Mr Andrew Fan Ka-fai, Chairman of China and Strategic Advisor of New Global Opportunity Innovation Team, Nu Skin Enterprises Inc., and a devoted alumnus of the College of Business, gave a talk titled “Force for Good, Change the World” on 14th December at City Seminar.

In his talk, Mr Fan shared several projects Nu Skin (China) has been working on, that have helped to improve the community and people who are in need. He believed that companies should give their power to change the world, and be socially responsible.

Mr Fan has graduated from CityU in 1988. In 2006, he was the founding Chairperson of CityU Convocation. In 2009, Mr Fan was named as an Honorary Fellow by CityU and member of the University Council, and was honoured with the University’s first Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2012, Mr Fan was appointed again as an executive member of the University Council. He is currently the Honorary President of the City University of Hong Kong Foundation; a council member of the China Foundation for Disabled Persons; Chairman of Microfinance Fund at the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation; Honorary Life President of the China Star Light Charity Fund, and Director of Jilin University Education Foundation. In 2011, Mr Fan was granted the Royal Thai Red Cross First Class Gold Medal of Appreciation.

Mr Fan has over 30 years of experience in direct selling and serviced Nu Skin for 26 years. He assisted in opening up 12 Nu Skin markets in Asia, and was the regional president of Southeast Asia, and Greater China respectively. He has been leading and deploying the company’s mission of “Force for Good” and initiated over 50 projects for the needs.

About City Seminar 
The City Seminar 香港席明納 was initiated by Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, with an aim to discuss topics together (席Xí), to understand suchtopics in depth (明Míng), and to gain something of value from the discussions (納Nà). Professors and/or scholars are invited to explore a wide range of topics during the series.
