Dean Houmin Yan welcomes Prof Xiaohong Guan

The College of Business was pleased to welcome Prof Xiaohong Guan, Dean of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University, to our College on 11th November. Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College of Business of CityU, had a fruitful discussion with Prof Guan.

They have exchanged views on recent research development of the Belt and Road Initiatives, and explored collaboration opportunities between the two universities, in areas of interdisciplinary research and training on Belt & Road. Prof Guan also visited the International PPP Specialist Centre of Excellence for Public Transport Logistics, which was jointly established by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Tsinghua University and CityU. The Centre is supported by the CityU Research Centre on One-Belt-One-Road, providing a platform to conduct high impact research on Belt & Road.

Prof Guan is the Cheung Kong Professor of Systems Engineering and Dean of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is also an Adjunct Professor and Director of the Center for Intelligent and Networked Systems at Tsinghua University, and served as the Department Head (2003-2008).

Prof Guan has recently been selected as one of the candidates of the 2017 Chinese Academy of Sciences Fellowship. Being granted a Fellowship of the Academy represents the highest level of national honour for Chinese scientists. We look forward to the good news of Prof Guan.
