The CityU Exchanges Fair kicked off on October 6, 2016. The College of Business wishes to enhance the Internationalisation within campus during the Fair.
15 booths were set up by the inbound exchange students to display native specialties from their home countries such as food, souvenirs, and trinkets. The students also made great efforts in decorating the booths, designing the games and introducing their countries to visitors. The annual Best Booth Prize this year was awarded to the booths representing Japan, Germany, the United States.
The Exchange Student Club also set up a booth to showcase the street culture of Mong Kok, one of the liveliest districts in Hong Kong. Exchange students were taught to write their own Chinese name on the postcards provided. A photo booth was also designed to enhance the interaction between participants from all over the world.
A series of exhilarating performance pushed the climax of the event. Highlights included Danish singing, Korean dancing, Taiwan drama and dancing and Chinese music performance by a group of international students, not to mention the Cantonese pop song performance by the returned local students. Their professional performances won the audience’s loud applause and appreciation.
“CityU and the College of Business have given us an excellent opportunity to share our own cultures and learn from the global neighbours. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. We hope that our classmates will pick up the courage to embrace this chance of international experience in the Exchanges Fair,” Bryan Kan said, President of the Exchange Student Club 2016-2017.
