Department of Marketing Alumni Dinner 2017Close

The CityU Department of Marketing Alumni Association held an alumni dinner to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the department in the evening of 19th March, 2017. Inspired by our department core values, being an international and interactive marketer with Internet to connecting people around the world, we named I-legacy as our theme. Over 150 guest joined the event with joy and laughter.

Prof Julie LI, Head of Department of Marketing, delivered a speech as the opening of the dinner with her warm welcome to alumni. She emphasized the relationship of the department, alumni and students are as closed as a family.

There was a series of activities prepared by alumni and professors, including lucky draw, video from oversea alumni and teachers award presentation. Other highlight of the dinner included logo design award announcement, cheering runners of 2017 Marathon Des Sables and the recognition to Prof Zhou and Ms Wisteria's contribution to the department.

ProLink 2016Open

The first networking and learning activity jointly organized by Department of Marketing and the CityU Department of Marketing Alumni Association, ProLink, was successfully held on 20 February 2016 in Academic 3, CityU. In total, 37 students and 11 alumni attended the event.

This time, we invited Mr. Spencer Wong, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of McCann & Spencer, to share his experience in the Advertising and Media industry with the participants.  Refreshments were arranged after the talk to provide a platform for students and alumni to network with each other and the guest speaker.

About ProLink

ProLink is a newly created alumni and student activity which aims to:
1. help alumni working in the same industry strengthen their network;
2. create opportunity for senior students to learn from both alumni and guest speaker; and
3. enrich the industry knowledge of current students and alumni.

Spanish Cooking Class 2015Open

With the theme of 'Get Connected' for 2015, the first event to connect with Alumni, Spanish Cooking Class, was successfully held in the evening of April 25, 2015 at the Steak Workshop.

In total, 28 alumni and their family members, staff, and student from the Department of Marketing joined the class. Alumni's graduating years vary from 1999 to 2014.

During that night, Alumni had enjoyed a fruitful time not only from the cocktail party and guided D.I.Y. cooking class, but also the valuable moments in mingling with alumni who had not met for a long time.

Department of Marketing Homecoming Gala Dinner 2014Open

The CityU Department of Marketing Alumni Association organized a Reunion Dinner in the evening of 30 November, 2014 at the CityU Chinese Restaurant.

This homecoming gala provided an opportunity for the Department to enrich its networks with alumni to create training, mentoring, and work opportunities for the current students. It also provided a platform for the alumni and staff to gather together and reconnect to the university.

Prof. ZHOU Nan, Prof. LI Julie, Mr. THAM Alex and Mr. CHEUNG Tony, who is the current president of the Alumni Association, gave inspirational speeches to the participants during the dinner.

In total, 122 alumni, staff, and students from the Department of Marketing joined the dinner, with games and lucky draw made the reunion fun. The new committee members of the Alumni Association were officially announced during the gala:

  • President: Mr. Tony Cheung
  • Vice-Presidents: Mr. Cyrus Tang and Mr. Lok Chan

Department of Marketing BBA China Business Alumni Gathering 2014Open

China Business Alumni Gathering 2014 was successfully held on the evening of 23rd August 2014 at City University of Hong Kong with the participation of over 100 China Business graduates from different cohorts. The event was co-organized by the Department of Marketing and China Business Alumni Association.

The event was kick-started by welcome remarks. Prof. Chen-ting Su, Head of Department of Marketing, expressed his warm welcome to alumni. Prof. Julie Li, Associate Dean of College of Business, and Prof. William Yang, China Business Programme Leader, gave their congratulations to alumni for their huge achievements and success in their career and life. All alumni, faculty members and guests enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends, the whole venue was filled with joy and excitement.
