Founding and Managing Director, InnoHK Centre for Translational Stem Cell Biology (CTSCB)
Professor Liu earned his BS from Henan Normal University, MPhil from the Institute of Genetics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and PhD from Baylor College of Medicine, followed by postdoctoral training at the U.S. National Cancer Institute. Before joining HKU, he led an independent research group at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and was affiliated with the University of Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. His research spans expanded potential stem cells (EPSCs), totipotent and pluripotent stem cells, cell reprogramming, epigenetics, human-cell ageing models, regenerative medicine, disease modelling, and antiviral drug and vaccine development. His major contributions include establishing cross-species EPSCs, developing a rapid human-cell ageing platform, advancing recombineering technology and personalized stem-cell models for immunodeficiency diseases, with publications in Nature and Science and multiple U.S. patents.

Prof. Feng-Ming (Spring) KONG

Professor Kong earned her MD and PhD from Shanghai Medical University, completed postdoctoral training at Duke University and radiation oncology residency at Washington University in St. Louis, and holds a master's degree in clinical trial design and data analysis from the University of Michigan. She is an American Board-certified radiation oncologist and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, American Society for Radiation Oncology, and American Association for Women Radiologists. Her research focuses on thoracic oncology, precision stereotactic radiotherapy, functional imaging and blood biomarkers, radio-immunotherapy, AI in oncology, the tumour microenvironment, multicentre clinical trial design, and gut microbiome-tumour immunity. She has served as PI on NIH/NCI R01 projects and held leadership roles in NRG Oncology and CSCO, and helps develop cross-border translational research and clinical trial platforms.

Professor Zhang holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan and a PhD in History and Sociology of Science and Technology from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on brand strategy, strategic and competitive pricing, market entry, luxury goods, channel and retail management, and the development of prominent global brands, with work published in leading international marketing journals. Drawing on extensive academic leadership, executive education and consulting experience across China and the United States, he advises the project on global brand strategy, brand prominence assessment, cross-border marketing, and international business-school perspectives.
Dr. WU Di
吳迪博士

Dr. Wu has an interdisciplinary background spanning pharmaceuticals, accounting and finance, and holds professional accounting qualifications in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Canada. He has extensive experience in biopharmaceutical investment, listed-company governance and capital operations, with expertise in pharmaceutical due diligence, equity investment, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management. He previously served as Managing Director of Zhejiang United Investment Group and as Director and Deputy General Manager of Paisi Shuanglin Biopharmaceutical, and currently serves as an independent non-executive director of several HKEX-listed companies, including biotechnology businesses. He advises the project on biopharmaceutical investment assessment, target evaluation, corporate governance, capital strategy and risk control, bringing an industry and capital-markets perspective.
Mr. ZHANG Yong
張勇先生

Mr. Zhang is a senior biopharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of international operations experience, with a particular focus on cell-based immunotherapy. He has led cell-therapy programmes in China and overseas and previously served as a company CEO, overseeing R&D, GMP manufacturing, quality management and business development. He also holds roles in several industry associations and serves as a senior advisor to a University of California-affiliated industry incubator. He advises the project on biopharmaceutical commercialization, cross-border programme operations, GMP quality systems and venture incubation, bringing practical insight from domestic and international markets.
