Research Principles
Global comparability · Compliant and traceable data · Quantitative analysis as the primary approach · Continuous, phased refinement
BIU will publish rankings and indices that help stakeholders understand brand strength, innovation, trust, and market recognition. Initial rankings will be released after the underlying data systems and validation procedures are completed.
Ranking results will be published only after data sources, criteria, and validation procedures are ready for public release. BIU will prioritize transparency, methodological consistency, and responsible communication.
Initiated by the Brand Intelligence Unit (BIU) of the Department of Marketing at City University of Hong Kong and led by Prof. YANG Zhilin, the project leverages Hong Kong's position as an international hub and focuses on pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and healthcare services. It is developing a scientifically rigorous, traceable and continuously evolving brand evaluation framework to provide professional brand-value benchmarks for organizations worldwide.
