Dr. Adrian Cheng graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) honours degree. He spent one year in Japan studying Japanese art and culture at the Stanford Kyoto Center for Japanese Studies. He also received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and an Honorary Fellowship from Lingnan University. He is currently Executive Vice-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group, the Executive Chairman of New World China Land, and an Executive Director of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group and New World Department Store China. 

Dr. Cheng was honoured as a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum in 2012 and was selected as one of the 2012 Fortune “40 Under 40” global business stars by Fortune magazine.

As an art pioneer, Dr. Cheng founded the K11 Art Foundation (KAF) in 2010, the first non-profit and non-state owned art foundation in Mainland China to incubate young contemporary Chinese artists and curators, and to promote public art education. 

Dr. Cheng is Vice-chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, Vice-chairman of The Youth Federation of the Central State-owned Enterprises, and a member of The Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Tianjin Municipal Committee. He is also the Chairman of New World Group Charity Foundation, Chairman of China Young Leaders Foundation, Chairman of ACYF HK Members Association, a Board Member of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, as well as a Member of Harvard Kennedy School Dean’s Council, Member of The Court of the University of Hong Kong, and Member of Richard Ivey School of Business, Asia Advisory Board, etc.
