Dr. Liu Changle is the founder and former Chairman of Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Limited, which currently broadcasts in more than 150 countries worldwide. Dr. Liu graduated from the Communication University of China. He has been appointed twice to the Board of Directors of Nanjing University since 2003, and is an Honorary Visiting Professor at the Communication University of China, Nankai University, Sun Yat-sen University, Fudan University, Xiamen University and Wuhan University. Dr Liu was conferred an Honorary Doctoral Degree by City University of Hong Kong in 2006.
Dr. Liu was appointed a Justice of the Peace by the government of HKSAR in 2004, and was a Member of both the Tenth and Eleventh National Committees of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conferences in 2005 and 2008. Dr. Liu has also served as a member of Hong Kong Strategy Development Committee of the Government of HKSAR. He is also a Director of the International Board of the US National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and was the Chairman of both the 2005 and 2006 iEMMYs Festival, as well as Chairman of the International Emmy World Television Festival in 2009 and 2010.
