CityU and ZhongAn International signed MOU
The College of Business of City University of Hong Kong and ZhongAn Technologies International Group Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration on talent development and research. A MOU signing ceremony was held at CityU on 16 September 2019.
Under the MOU, ZhongAn will actively engage in talent development activities with CityU such as internship and graduate programmes, career fair, capstone projects, mentoring programmes, fintech certificate programme etc. Students will be given chances to gain hands-on FinTech exposure before graduation and to keep abreast with state-of-the-art industry information to prepare them for the talent supply chain.
Besides, both parties will identify research topics that are of mutual interest and will participate in one another’s research activities, opening up new opportunities for faculty and students in the field on FinTech or InsurTech.
Mr Wayne Xu, President of ZhongAn Technologies International Group, said, “Talent is important for a young tech company like ZhongAn. We are active in building up our talent network in both China and Hong Kong. We want to hire young talents and bring them crossover opportunities in technology and finance fields. We are looking forward to more cooperation with CityU.”
On the same occasion, CityU faculty members and ZhongAn executives had a fruitful exchange on FinTech related issue. Mr Rockson Hsu, CEO of ZA Bank, a subsidiary of ZhongAn and one of the eight virtual banking license recipients in Hong Kong, introduced ZA Bank and talked about the key elements for the virtual banking business. Meanwhile, four faculty members namely Professor Leon Zhao, Dr Xin Li and Dr Alvin Leung from the Department of Information Systems and Dr Michael Wong from the Department of Economics and Finance, were invited to share about their researches related to FinTech.
Founded in December 2017, ZhongAn Technologies International Group is a subsidiary of ZhongAn Online, an InsurTech company in China.
