Amidst waterfalls, reservoir and rolling peaks, CB exchange students were treated to a memorable day exploring the epic volcanic landscapes of Sai Kung in early November. Magnificent giant columnar rocks dominated the landscape as Exchange Student Club members welcomed 25 students to the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, one of the premier hikes in Hong Kong.

“The Geopark was really beautiful, I saw some amazing rocks,” said Timon Swillen from the Katholieke University Leuven, Belgium. “The beach where we went after was also really cool. It was a really good experience for me overall.”

“Spending a day with the exchange students in such a beautiful spot in Hong Kong was a fantastic experience,” said Amos Tin, one of the ESC members. “Hiking helps international students to know more about Hong Kong, that we are not just a city, but a healthy international metropolis surrounded by stunning nature.”

“The internationalisation programme moves us beyond the business sphere and enhances the experience of our exchange and Hong Kong students alike,” said Mary Pang, Associate Dean (Internationalisation).

A great day was had by all and ESC looks forward to welcoming future groups to explorations around Hong Kong.
