Gaining insights into the latest global developments and business challenges, 38 students from the Global Executive MBA programme of the WU Executive Academy of the Vienna University of Business and Economics, participated in the Global Weekfrom 12 to 15 January 2021. The programme, co-organised by the College of Business Executive Education unit, was a preparation module for the International Residencies.

“We could not go out to the world, so let’s bring the four continents to our home,” said Professor Barbara Stöttinger, Dean of the WU Executive Academy, in her opening remarks.

The programme features a range of learning activities including seminars, case studies and company visits, of which two of the seminars were organised by the College’s Executive Education unit via the Zoom platform. Professor Wayne Yu, Director of Executive Education, taught on how Hong Kong takes a financial intermediation role between China and the rest of the world, whereas Dr. James Wang, Research Director of the Bay Area Hong Kong Centre, explained how the Greater Bay Area acts as a key area for global supply chains.

Apart from the seminars organised by the College, other learning activities were delivered by speakers from Brazil, India and Argentina.
