College of Business Commencement 2022
In Response to the fifth wave of COVID pandemic, CityU has moved the annual Commencement online. The University ran a virtual Commencement to confer a total of 2,170 academic awards to the graduates of the College of Business in 2022, including Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, Doctor’s degrees and Research degrees.
Professor Jeong Bon Kim, Acting Dean of College of Business, presided at the Ceremony. In his address, Professor Kim encouraged students to embrace challenges which make themselves prepared for the future. He said, “It is fair to say that your generation is graduating into an unchartered world that faces more profound challenges than any generation in decades. Today, we are struggling with unparalleled global issues, such as climate change risk, environmental deterioration, revolutions in artificial intelligence, as well as massive inequality in most socio-economies, besides regional and geopolitical conflicts.”
“Nevertheless, I am proud to see the way that CityU education and caring spirit you have learnt from CityU will make a big difference in your future career. We can be stronger through pulling together and helping each other. As you now enter the real world of work and practice, further study, or an alternative path, you will be able to draw on the many positive side of challenges from your time at CityU, which will help you overcome potential downside of challenges ahead,” he added.
On the same occasion, the College presented the 2021 College Research Excellence Award, the 2021 College Teaching Excellence Award and the 2022 College of Business Distinguished Alumni Award.
