MKT hosts Briefing Session for Executive Mentorship Programme

The Department of Marketing hosted a Briefing Session for its Executive Mentorship Programme 2023/2024 on 29 November 2023, with around 90 mentors and mentees attending.

Over 60 BBA Marketing and BBA Global Business students were admitted to the programme this year. 30 Senior Business Executives from Advertising, Banking and Finance, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Fintech, Hotel and hospitality, Information Technology Services, Marketing Analytics and Research, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Public Relations industries act as mentors.

Professor David Li Yanzhi, the Head of the Department of Marketing, warmly welcomed all participants and expressed his gratitude to the business executives and alumni who generously dedicated their time and shared their valuable experiences as mentors.

Four mentors were invited to share their insights and experiences during the session. They are Mr Nick Cheng, Head of Direct Sales, Hong Kong, NetSuite Integration; Mr Josh Li, Sales Development Representative, Qualtrics; Mr Toni Tse, Director of Digital Innovation and Growth Department, Bank of China Life Assurance Limited; and Mr Wilson Wong, Marketing Director, Price.com.HK Limited.

Dr. Fanny Cheung, the Programme Coordinator of the Executive Mentorship Programme, highlighted the programme's objectives, which aim to deepen students’ understanding of the dynamic business world, connect students with the industry, and enhance students’ personal and career development through professional coaching by business executives.

Also attending the ceremony were Professor Yanni Yan, Professor Vincent Wong, Mr Alex Tham, and Mr Logan Lo of the Department of Marketing.

Feedback from BBA Global Business and BBA Marketing students was overwhelmingly positive.

Sophia Chang Hoi-yi, BBA Marketing, said: “The advice from our experienced mentors has sharpened my understanding of the industry and helped me to plan my future career wisely.”

Cheuk-kiu Wong, BBA Marketing, said: “I am sincerely grateful to my mentor for sharing his valuable work experience, encouraging us to explore diverse paths, and emphasising the importance of continued learning after graduation.”

Crystal Chu Choi-ha, BBA Global Business, said: “This was definitely a cherished opportunity for me to gain industrial insights. Shout out the most enormous thanks to the Department of Marketing and the coordinator's efforts!”
