“I am grateful for the internship at Cheers. I have a deeper understanding of the challenges communities face. I am confident that the lessons and experiences from this internship will guide my future endeavours, as I continue to work towards creating an equitable and inclusive society and learn how to apply my business knowledge in NGOs.”

Ma Pui Man, BBA student majoring in Business Operations Management, interned at ELCHK Essence Hub. She emphasized the significance of leveraging business knowledge to support NGOs and encourage corporate social responsibility among companies.

The Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Program (CIP) is a summer internship programme founded in 2010 which reaches across Hong Kong. In 2023, 69 students from nine universities were placed in 39 NGOs and social enterprises for community internship. CIP is an invaluable opportunity for students to contribute their knowledge, creativity and expertise to non-profit organisations and prepare themselves to become professionals with a better understanding of the community and Corporate Social Responsibility.
