A CB Business Forum for undergraduates was held on 25 March evening at the HKTech 300 Co-working Space in Admiralty. The forum served as a valuable platform for CB students to meet industry leaders, gain cutting-edge knowledge on entrepreneurship and sustainability, and network with like-minded peers and professionals.

The forum was kicked off by Professor Raymond Wong, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programmes), who introduced the event and the guest speakers. These included Mr Ocean Ng, Co-founder of Mapxus, Mr Andy Ann, Chairman of NDN Group, and Mr Sammi Wong, Founding Leader of HKSTP Ventures.

Mr Ocean Ng presented on "Smart City Sustainability by In-Building Digital Transformation". He highlighted the immense possibilities for entrepreneurs to contribute to sustainable development by leveraging innovative digital solutions within urban environments.

Mr Andy Ann shared his entrepreneurial journey in his presentation titled "Innovating for Sustainability: The Journey of Entrepreneurial Success and Sustainable Impact". He demonstrated that sustainable practices and business growth can go hand in hand, providing a success story that inspires participants.

Mr Sammi Wong shed light on the investment criteria and roadmap followed by venture capitalists when evaluating sustainable startups in his presentation "How Venture Capital evaluates startups in the field of sustainability".

The presentations were followed by a panel discussion chaired by Mr Baniel Cheung, CB Adjunct Professor. The panellists, including Ocean, Andy, and Sammi, engaged in a lively discussion sharing their insights and experiences in the fields of sustainability and entrepreneurship.

Student feedback was positive. Daniel Yip Chun-hei, a BBA Finance student, said, “My greatest takeaway is recognising that the driving force behind innovation is the need to build on and surpass existing solutions to achieve a sustainable future.”

David Tse Chun-fei, BBA Information Management, welcomed the insights shared by the guest speakers. He said, “I am inspired to incorporate sustainability into my start-up business practices and leverage digital solutions to contribute to a greener future.”

Evelyn Zeng Man-lam, a BBA Management student, praised the forum for providing valuable insights on achieving business success through innovation, sustainability, and ESG. She said, “The forum sparked my interest in learning more about sustainability, and I am eager to pursue new opportunities for learning and advancement.”
