The Leadership Enrichment and Advancement Programme for Experienced Principals (LEAP) was launched in March. The local component of the programme was organised by the College of Business and Education Bureau (EDB), and attended by 32 experienced principals from primary, secondary, and special education schools.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by Ms Wai-ping Lee, Principal Assistant Secretary (Professional Development and Training) at EDB, and Professor Stephen Shum Wan-hang, Associate Dean (Research and Faculty) of CB. Ms Lee emphasised the importance of the programme in nurturing the growth and development of school leaders within the ever-changing educational landscape. Professor Shum expressed his gratitude towards these principals for their proactive approach to self-enhancement, setting an inspiring example of lifelong learning that benefits both themselves and the younger generations they serve.

The LEAP programme is designed to enhance the leadership capabilities of principals in the dynamic field of education. The modules primarily focus on effective leadership and organisational growth, and were led by Professor Chak-fu Lam, Associate Professor in the Department of Management.

As part of the programme, the participants had the opportunity to visit Preface, an education technology company, and Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service, a non-governmental organisation. These visits provided principals with a unique perspective on how these organisations manage change and innovation in their respective fields.

The College of Business is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous professional development, firmly believing that equipping school principals with the latest leadership strategies and insights will ultimately lead to a more dynamic and effective education system.
