Executive Sharing Forum explores Gen Z's impact on business
The College of Business successfully hosted its annual Executive Sharing Forum on 16 July 2025, bringing together industry leaders, faculty, and students to explore the transformative influence of Generation Z on business strategies during an era of digital innovation. Organised by undergraduate students from the CB4605 Business Consultancy Project, the event fostered meaningful dialogue between academia and industry, showcasing innovative solutions to contemporary business challenges.
The forum's centrepiece was an engaging panel discussion featuring four distinguished industry leaders:
- Dr Nick Tsui, CEO & Co-founder of Alongside Limited
- Ms Michelle Wong, Commercial Manager at Big C (HK) Company Limited
- Ms Alice Li, General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Hong Kong Tourism Board
- Mr Wilson Wong, Marketing Director of Price.com.hk Limited
The panellists shared thought-provoking perspectives on adapting business models to meet the expectations of Gen Z, effectively leveraging AI and digital platforms, and balancing innovation with traditional business practices. Their discussions highlighted how different sectors - from tourism and retail to e-commerce and social advocacy - are transforming their approaches to engage this influential demographic.
Another key aspect of the forum was the showcase of CB4605 student projects, where teams presented their research and consultancy work addressing real-world business challenges faced by their respective clients. The presentations demonstrated how theoretical concepts from the classroom can translate into actionable recommendations, inspiring fellow business students who are considering a future in consulting.

Professor Lambert Chan, BBA Global Business Deputy Programme Leader, emphasised the forum's dual purpose: "This event bridges academic learning with industry realities while fostering meaningful connections between our students and business leaders.” He also introduced the upcoming CB4606 Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project, a cross-institution initiative with HKUST designed to equip students with the skills needed to launch and manage social enterprises that address pressing community needs.
The forum concluded with a fruitful networking session, allowing students to connect directly with panellists and industry practitioners. This event reaffirmed the College of Business's commitment to providing students with exposure to real-world business experiences while strengthening ties between academia and industry.
