CityUHK BIE supports CityUHK Academy of Innovation in hosting visit to BYD
The City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) Academy of Innovation, with support from Business Innovation Education (BIE), recently organised an enlightening visit to BYD's global headquarters in Shenzhen for Master of Science Venture Creation (MSVC) students. Led by Professor Tina Choi, Founding Director of BIE, the visit provided students with a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies and engage with industry leaders.

A major highlight of the visit was an in-depth discussion with Ms Amy Wu, General Manager of BYD's premium brand, YangWang Auto Limited. Ms Wu, our recent outstanding CityUHK MBA alumna, shared invaluable in-depth insights on innovation and sustainability within the rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry, inspiring students to think critically about the future industry trends.
The day began with an engaging company tour, students had the chance to tour BYD's state-of-the-art facilities, witnessing groundbreaking advancements in electric vehicles and clean energy technologies firsthand. The experience was further enhanced by an exhilarating test ride in BYD's amphibious vehicle, showcasing the company's engineering excellence and ability to seamlessly transition between land and water — truly bringing the technology to life.
Professor Choi commended the visit as an exceptional opportunity for students to bridge academic learning with real-world innovation, emphasising the importance of sustainability and technology in shaping the future of entrepreneurship. The visit to BYD, organised within the CityUHK Academy of Innovation's course framework, left students motivated and inspired to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
